Cleaning your electronic appliances can be a bit of a hassle, but it’s a regular part of your life and we all know how much better we feel with our everyday objects being in constant use. Here is a list of things to do, or to avoid, when cleaning these appliances.
Spray regular cleaner or rubbing alcohol onto paper towels and then wipe the stage of the switch. You can use disinfectant wipes as well. Be careful, though, you do not want to spray anything into the surface directly. And do not forget to wipe the surface afterwards to dry it. Liquids conduct electricity, so be very careful with this.
These can be cleaned using a vacuum cleaner or you can just brush the dust off. For portable fans, me mindful that the fans are completely disconnected from power. It’s also important to ensure that the fans are dry after dusting as it would attract dust otherwise.
For most screens, simply wiping them with a piece of cloth should be enough. If the dirt is persistent, then a wet cloth can be used. If the dirt remains, you can use a cleaner or a mixture of water and white vinegar in equal amounts.
As with lights, nothing should be sprayed on the screen. Also, make sure you do not use paper to wipe the screen as that might damage the pixels. And most importantly, there screen should be wiped gently without exerting any pressure.
Begin with washing the stovetop with warm, soapy water to clean of the oil and grime. The next is to wipe the water using towels. Once that is done, spray a cleaner into the surface and use a scrubber to loosen the more difficult and persistent stains. Wash and dry afterwards in the same manner. Before you begin, ensure the stove has completely cooled off.
Since the interior tends to be plastic, microwaves soak up a lot of odor. Begin cleaning with warm, soapy water and then with plain water. If the odor remains, mix baking soda into water and clean using the mixture. Afterwards, dry the microwave and allow the door to be open for a few hours. Don’t forget ensure that the oven is disconnected from power and has been cooled down.
