Electrical work is defined as “the manufacturing, constructing, installing, testing, maintaining, repairing, altering, removing, or replacing of electrical equipment” in section 18 of the Electrical Safety Act (2002).

It is unsafe

Obvious, this one really. If you don’t have knowledge of electricals, it is downright dangerous to try and work with them. It is inefficient

It really isn’t worth playing electrician. Secondly, even if you are initially successful in getting your work done, chances are, in the long run, you will end up paying more and spending more time in fixing your mistakes.
