Benefits of Solar

Harnessing the power of the sun is a great way to generate electricity for your home or commercial premises without relying solely on your electricity distributor. All around the Gold Coast we are seeing solar power systems gaining popularity as a way to mitigate the ever increasing price of electricity whilst reducing one’s carbon footprint on the environment.

Renewable energy is the way of future, where we can derive energy from a source that is never depleted, like the sun. Solar energy is literally energy created from sunlight. The energy or heat from the sun is captured via solar panels mounted on a roof top and then converted to electricity through an inverter.

Solar power systems are available in a variety of kW (kilowatt) sizes to suit small homes right up to large commercial and industrial premises but must be installed by a licenced electrician who also has solar installation accreditation from the Clean Energy Council.

Sparkies Electrical Contracting Services have extensive experience in installing solar power systems on premises all over the Gold Coast. We are able to install a wide range of range of residential renewable energy options to make your home more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Not only does having a solar system reduce your energy bills, the other benefits of solar energy are:

  • Sustainable energy source
  • Quiet and clean energy source
  • Little ongoing maintenance
  • Able to add more panels to the system (where existing inverter capacity is available)
  • Increases your properties value
  • Long term investment into the future
  • Rebates can apply to reduce the initial cost of your system with your installer
  • Incentives can be available in the form of Feed in Tariffs for excess electricity generated

Rebates

When installing a solar PV system, rebates in the form of STC’s (Small-scale Technology Certificates) assist with reducing the overall purchase price of the solar power system. STC’s are based on the expected output of the solar system over a 15 year period and are dependent on the size of the solar power system installed.

What is a Feed in Tariff?

A feed-in tariff is a rate paid for surplus electricity fed back into the electricity grid from an approved renewable electricity generation source such as a rooftop solar panel system. In the event you install a solar power system on your Gold Coast property, “Market Feed in Tariffs” are available in Queensland for exporting surplus electricity back to the grid that is generated from your solar system. Electricity retailers offer competitive Feed in Tariffs for new solar customers which currently sit around 6.348 cents per kilowatt hour.

The incentive to go green and generate electricity from the sun is stronger than ever. Renewable energy not only protects you from regular electricity price hikes but also protects Planet Earth.

If you have a Gold Coast property and would like to discuss a solar power system installation , be sure to talk to Sparkies Electrical Contracting Services. Even if your property has an unusual or difficult roofline and you are not sure if it is suitable for solar power system installation, rest assured we will be able to provide the right solar power solution for you.
